Morning – The Beginning of a Dream Very early, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin this magical journey. A 1 hour and 45 minute drive in a tourist vehicle will take us to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we will board the train that travels through the landscapes of the Sacred Valley. During the nearly 2-hour train journey, we will cross rivers, mountains, and valleys shrouded in mist. Little by little, nature becomes greener, wetter, and more mysterious. We are arriving in Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu – Encounter with the Sacred Our staff will be waiting to take you to the bus station for the bus that ascends the mountainside to the most sacred site of the ancient Inca Empire: Machu Picchu, located at 2,450 meters above sea level. Once at the top, you'll enjoy a 2-hour guided tour in your chosen language, exploring the citadel's most impressive features, such as the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the funerary areas or ceremonial cemeteries. You'll have ample time to contemplate, photograph, and immerse yourself in the magic of this place. Afternoon – Relax in Aguas Calientes Back in town, you'll have time for lunch at your leisure, stroll through the local markets, or simply relax as the day's experiences settle into your memory. Return to Cusco – With a High Spirit When the time comes, you'll board the train back to Ollantaytambo, a journey of approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. There, our team will be waiting to take you on the final leg of your trip: your comfortable and safe return to the city of Cusco.
